Dank Mirth is a series of colorful cartoon panel style acrylic paintings on sheets of raw burlap and double-sided 3D wooden comic-strip thought balloons suspended from the gallery’s ceiling. The title of the show refers to a particular style of gallows humor familiar to those who make their home in New Orleans. The show is an attempt to have folks still find their immediate circumstance humorous even when disconnected from the comfort zone of certainty.
